In conjunction with Richmondshire Business Week, Hannah Thomas, Solicitor at FSB Legal Services, will explain how growing your business through recruitment of additional staff can be done confidently and safely. This will include changes in employment practices post-COVID19 in respect of work environments and flexible/home working requests. Her presentation will include:

• Taking on a new employee (or a first employee) including right to work checks
• Avoiding Claims and Disputes with employees
• Post Covid world of work – flexible and home working and covid health and safety considerations

This will be followed by open Q&A for any employment advice.

Hannah qualified as a solicitor in 2007 at a medium-sized central London firm, originally practising in commercial litigation. She has acted for both employers and employees in contentious and non-contentious Employment Law matters, including Tribunal work and drafting contracts and handbooks for employers. She has been specialising in employment law since 2009 and now provides advice to FSB members, businesses and HR professionals on all aspects of employment law on behalf of Markel Law LLP for FSB Legal Services.
