Bright Ideas Gathering

After a highly successful first year, the Bright Ideas Gathering will be bigger and better in 2022 as we move to our new home at the stunning Gala Durham.

2022 will be the first year of a four year partnership with Durham County Council as we commit to producing the Bright Ideas Festival annually every Autumn up to and including 2025.

At the Bright Ideas Gathering we elevate traditional lectures into a truly impactful, exciting and uplifting event.

We’ll be announcing our speakers shortly but as a preview the talk topics will include..

• How do you create stadium-filling music on a computer that costs £5?
• The secret reason why we procrastinate and what we can do about it;
• It’s the 100th Anniversary of the discovery of King Tutankhamen’s grave: how has this discovery changed us?
• The BBC are opening up a major new North East tech hub: a preview of the plans and the innovations being worked on;
• We all know about electric vehicles but how will we power airplanes in a net zero world?
• What does physics tell us about the big questions like: could God really exist? Do we have free will? Are we really living in computer simulation?
